Sunbird Metal Works Acquires Prairie Dance, Continuing a Sioux Falls Legacy of Metal Craftsmanship
Sunbird Metal Works, owned by local couple Adam Jerstad and Alexa Jerstad, is proud to announce the acquisition of Prairie Dance from longtime owners Terri Schuver and Todd Schuver.
For years, Prairie Dance has been a beloved name in the Sioux Falls community and beyond, known for its handcrafted metal décor sold through the Schuvers’ downtown retail store, Sticks and Steel, as well as on Etsy and through other channels nationwide.
Terri and Todd Schuver will continue to own and operate Sticks and Steel in downtown Sioux Falls, while Sunbird Metal Works takes over the manufacturing of the signature Prairie Dance product line.
“We’re honored to continue the legacy that Terri and Todd have built with Prairie Dance,” said Adam Jerstad, co-owner of Sunbird Metal Works. “Their designs and craftsmanship have created a strong following both locally and across the country. We’re excited to build on that foundation and continue producing the quality pieces customers know and love.”
Terri Schuver shared her excitement for the future of the brand: “Prairie Dance has been such a meaningful part of our lives, and finding the right people to carry it forward was incredibly important to us. Adam and Alexa share our commitment to quality and creativity, and we’re confident the brand is in great hands.”
Under the new ownership, customers can expect the same unique metal décor designs and craftsmanship that have defined Prairie Dance, with opportunities for expanded offerings and continued growth.
“We’re thrilled to be part of Prairie Dance’s next chapter,” said Alexa Jerstad. “As a local family-owned business ourselves, we value the importance of preserving what makes this brand special while finding ways to grow and evolve.”
